Andreas Schulmeyer

Founder, Faultline Solutions
Former CFO, Packable and Walmart E-Commerce

Andreas has 20+ years of financial, digital and e-commerce experience at companies such as Walmart, L Brands and PepsiCo.

At Walmart, Andreas led development of online grocery, the build-out of D2C logistics network in the US; and led the entry of Walmart into China.

Andreas is highly experienced in M&A, international market entry, regulatory compliance and organizational designing & restructuring.

Sara Akbar

Chairperson and CEO OilServ Kuwait, Co-Founder Kuwait Energy

Sara has 35+ years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry having held various executive positions at OilServ, Kuwait Oil Company & Kuwait Foreign Petroleum & Exploration Company.

In 2017, Sara was elected as a member of the Kuwait Supreme Council for Planning and Development and is on the Board of Trustees of Kuwait’s Silk Territory Project.

She serves as a non exec at Petrofac and Advisory Board chair at American University of Kuwait.

Sara received many acclaims for her role in Kuwait’s Wild Well Killers (extinguishing Kuwait’s oil well fires post 91 war). The heroic act earned Sara the designation of ‘Firefighter’ and a ‘Global 500 Award’ presented by the United Nation’s Environmental Program.

Dr. Sara Alom Ruiz

Divisional General Manager: Digital Transformation and Innovation, Mediclinic International

Sara has 16+ years of healthcare experience having held senior executive positions at Alvarez & Marsal, King’s College Hospital London, Mediclinic Middle East and Al Noor Hospital Group.

Prior to joining Mediclinic International, Sara was a Director at Alvarez & Marsal leading their strategy and improvement practice. Sara was also the former Chief Strategy and Commercial Officer at King’s College Hospital London and was part of the founding executive leadership team.

Sara served as the Director of Business Performance Improvement at Mediclinic Middle East post-merger with Al Noor Hospital Group and has closely worked in the business integration of the UAE’s largest healthcare merger and in setting the combined group’s strategy. Sara was the former COO of flagship hospital of Al Noor Hospital’s Group.

She has an MBA from Duke University & PhD in cardiovascular medicine from King’s College London University.

Tarek Kabil

Former Minister of Trade & Industry, Egypt, and former PepsiCo MEA CEO

Tarek has 35+ years of experience in FMCG, having held various executive positions at PepsiCo and Procter & Gamble. He served as Egypt’s former Minister of Trade and Industry between 2015 and 2018.

Tarek spent 3 years as a Partner at the Abraaj Group, where he was responsible for managing 40 FMCG portfolio companies.

Prior to Abraaj, Tarek spent 18 years at PepsiCo, where he led operations in the MEA region, doubling profits within a 3-year timeframe and 12 years at P&G.

Jennie Holloway

Co-Founder of Ekta Partners and The Growth Stage

Jennie Holloway has 15 years’ experience in fund raising for high growth companies in the EMEA region. Prior to founding Ekta Partners and The Growth Stage, Jennie was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs where she most recently led the Alternative Equity Capital Markets team, with a focus on private company fund raising.

At Goldman, she was responsible for capital raising for high growth private businesses primarily within the tech space as well as leading the Equity Capital Markets practice in the MENA region.

Prior to that, Jennie worked in Emerging Markets ECM at HSBC London. During her time in investment banking, Jennie has helped to raise over US$20bn for her clients. She is a graduate from The University of Manchester specializing in International Business, Finance and Economics.

Fares Akkad

Managing Director MENA, Meta

Fares comes into the role with a wealth of experience, most recently he was a Director for Media Partnerships at META with a global remit leading the News team across Growth Markets (APAC, LATAM, MEA). In this role he worked on some of the most sensitive issues facing the company including the Australian IP regulation, Afghanistan and Middle East unrest and Brazilian elections and regulation to mention a few. During his tenure, he managed to bring cohesion and synergy to a newly established region.

Prior to his global role, Fares was running the Media Partnerships team in MEA where he had great impact. Most notably, Fares built a case for MENA to be one of four play-to-win video markets for Facebook, securing funding of $45 million over 3 years for content from the region. He also played an active role in the design and kick-off of the 1Africa initiative and was key in securing funding and resources for SSA.

Prior to Facebook, Fares was leading digital business development and distribution for MBC Group (largest media group in MENA) and spent over a decade in management consulting both in the region and the US working across a wide variety of industries and companies.

Fares holds an undergraduate degree in Biotechnology (Cum Laude), a Master’s degree in Information Systems (Cum Laude) and an MBA with an emphasis in entrepreneurship and Finance (Highest Distinction).

Abdulaziz Albassam

CEO, AIMS Investments

Abdulaziz has 12+ years of experience in the finance and investment industry with expertise in asset allocation, investment strategy, shariah compliant investment structures and investment opportunity evaluation across different asset classes.

Prior to AIMS, he held the roles of investment advisor at Jadwa Advisory, Co founder and MD of Oasis Capital and Portfolio Manager at Saudi Aramco. Abdulaziz also served as a consultant at McKinsey & Co.

He serves on the investment committees of various organizations such as the King Abdullah Endowment and Aljomaih Endowment.

He is a CFA charter holder and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BBA from Northeastern University.
